    Nagoya University HeForShe Committee is pleased to announce the HeForShe Writing Contest is open and call for stories.
    This Writing Contest is jointly organized with the University of Waterloo and other HeForShe University IMPACT Champions.

    [About the University of Waterloo’s HeForShe Writing Contest]
    As part of the commitment to the UN Women’s HeForShe IMPACT 10x10x10 initiative, the University of Waterloo presents the HeForShe writing contest each fall. 2019 ? 2020 will mark the fourth year of the successful contest, with each year receiving between 40 ? 50 submissions from our community.
    Gender equity calls for all of our voices and all of our stories. To achieve lasting change, we must connect experiences of gender to a diverse understanding of equity in our community and in our world. Everyone in Nagoya University ? students, staff, faculty, and alumni ? are invited to share their stories, real and imagined, about building a better and more equitable world.

    The 2019 ? 20 contest theme is LEGACY.
    When gender equity is connected to the dream of equality for everyone, how is our world made better? In what ways are you #HeForShe?

    * Maximum 5000 words in English
    * Individual prizes of $500 are awarded for the top submission in each category (poetry, creative non-fiction, and fiction). Selected submissions are also included in the University of Waterloo anthology on gender equity that is published and presented at our International Women’s Day dinner. Also, the winners will be invited to attend the University of Waterloo’s International Women’s Day Dinner in 2020 in Canada. (Travel cost to Canada will be covered by Nagoya University)
